I have in my hands a letter sent out to a core group of PGIB people with evidence of a plan to take over the provincial executive at todays meeting

The Chandler slate consists of

*Craig Chandler - VP Fundraising
*Mark Dyholm - VP Policy
*David Crutcher - VP Membership
*Harley Shouldice - Southern Regional Director
*Don Leonardo - Southern Regional Director

I will let people here make their own judgements

That's the quickest way I can think of to destroy the party.

I'm on my way to the meeting shortly. Sorry Craig but you won't be getting my vote. Having you on the executive gives the media, PC's and all the rest the ammo they need in order to paint the party as right-wing extremest...

As Calgary's largest independent business organization, PGIB supports conservative causes that promote less government, lower taxes, and family values.

Are you surprised that the PGIB rallies its members to support a conservative cause.

And calling out support for members who are willing to serve the new party is not a "takeover".

And Chandler can drive media attention... otherwise the event would be reported by a stringer, and posted in the socials section.

The only thing Chandler and the PGIB want is power at all cost, they don't care who they have to go through or destroy to get it.

I am offended by your venom.

Odd? Just a review of anything Link Byfield wrote in the Alberta Report would communicate the same message. Is Link Byfield not running as an MLA candidate?

Disappointed, but not surprised.

THe funny thing is you make me look like a Liberal.

Odd, It was Randy Thorsteinson and Kelly Sweird that called and asked me to get some people together.

We merely want to insure ALL conservatives are welcome and not just a special club.

Also, I am thankful for this post as I blind copied included a certain person in the e-mail and they circulated. Thanks for flushing them out for us. They will not be trusted again.

Travis,

We need to unite conservatives and all PGIB ever does is support conservative causes. The enemy is the Liberals and PC's not me.

All PGIB has ever desired is change.

If this new party becomes a special club then it will go nowhere.

You say you don't want this party to become a special club, yet you go ahead and ask your PGIB members to support only other PGIB members to be voted into the executive.

Why not let them -- your PGIB members -- decide who is best for the nominated positions and allow them to vote accordingly? Why is it that you feel only other PGIB members are best?

Sounds like a special club to me.

You had all this time to announce to the world that you and these other people were running as a block for these positions, what were you afraid of Craig?

Here's the real question to Craig and his 'team':

If your group fails in it's mission today, are each of you committed and vow to remain in support of the party? If you guys fail and then make a quick exit, any cred you and your group have will be zero.

That's great news. Chandler and Alliance are a natural fit like hand and glove. Now Alliance can have a meaningful candidate in Chandler's constituency.

Chandler's slate got defeated... Sorry AltaInd, you can't start celebrating just yet...

I don't think anyone is surprised by this -- but I am a bit surprised that Chandler signed his letter as the "democratically elected conservative in Calgary Egmont". Wasn't that with the, um, other party?
